End Game - Posted: 07-25-2007
Whats a good raid and or spec end game for a mage. right now im full frost at lvl 61 and i like it alot but idk if the dps is good enough for end game raids. i was thinking about 40/0/21 for ice block and all of the amazing arcane bonuses, but i'd lose alot of power at the end of the frost tree. i was thinking about 17/0/44 but i'd lose a large portion of the spell dmg from arcane. any suggestions? (if u havent noticed im trying to avoid fire)

Frost is the best for pvp so go full frost. But fire is good for leveling.

i love frost for everything, but i wasnt sure if the dps was good enough for end game raids. and fire imo has 2 much downtime with questing. but anyways thx for the input

Best spec for raiding is 10/48/3.

Heres my armory if you got any questions as to where to put points.

the 10/48/3 spec is great....but imo theres a stepping stone spec in between

for end game mages, youre almost required to have tailoring. this way you make the spellfire set. its a lot of farming, believe me i know...but its worth it. you get great robes/gloves/belt from it. after that + some heroic epics and a few karazhan pieces, you add in the stepping stone spec. it can vary on your opinion, just pick up spell mastery or whatever it is in deep arcane (25% of intellect=spell damage). thats where im at right now, and im sittin at 1k spell damage for fire/arcane and around 22.something% crit. once you start getitng higher gear like t4+...you get slightly less intellect and more damage. eventually mind mastery becomes useless, and you move into 10/48/3.

imo, mind mastery for karazhan and halfway through ssc, then 10/48/3 the rest of the way.

edit: nice gear rezznor, hes the ideal person to spec 10/48/3.......hes easily got the gear for it.

Tailoring is an absolute MUST for priests and mages... the tailor-made epics are BOE
