Warhammer 40k

Ive found a new hobby that is probably not that popular but is totaly kick ass that any WoW fans would like. Check out Warhammer 40k and see what you guys think, ive been playing for about 5 years now. Post your army if you have one, if not get one. This is a pretty sweet game.:D

pretty much warhammmer is a table top game that is deepicted as anepic battle between different races believing that thier "God" is the rightfull owner of the galaxy, there is a huge storyline behind it and you make your game pieces (models) and battle it out using advance stratagy and dice rolls. i recommend it fully. although it is very hard to pick up on if you have not played at all before, took me about 2 weeks or so.

I wanna do Eldar I like the Shoot'em up style of the Tau... I have more characters for the Eldar, a Box Starter and a Farseer and a squad or striking scorpions. i haven't really played in like a year so it would be interesting to play a game and finish my army. I also play Dawn of War The orignal and The two expansions. I play as Tau on the Expansion Dark Crusadehave you ever heard of these games?:confused:

Well personaly I would choose Eldar over the tau because i love thier avatar...he is a total badass in the table top game and almost unstopable, the only bad thing about tau is that if any space marines go up against them, thier armor is to good for you to knock them back, and in most cases you just ran down. Although I have seen a few people that totaly own with them, it's all up to your personal play style. I play a Black Templar Mob Rush, wich pretty much i run people over before they can get to me. And yes I love the RTS version of 40k too. :cool:

I am learning owards Eldar only cause I have more of them. And some of the new playing rules for Tau have changed. One of which for there broadsides i heard can fire there rail cannons right after there movement phase. The only thing i don't like about eldar are the range of there weapons and the amount of armour they have. You have to exploit cover to the utter most degree to get even within firing range of a small squad of space marines could take out and entire squad of guardians in one turn if he roled right and had heavy bolters in the squad. The only thing my eldar have going for them right now is that i have more and a HQ and that i have already started to paint some. Other than that I would go with Tau cause I LOVE shoot'em up armies.:D

Whats your best campaign on the RTS version of 40k and i am talking about Dark Crusade if you have it?

Yeah i own with tau mostly and necrons. I like good shootem up armys and ones with really durable units. I choose tau because you saw in my first post i own with them. I also chose necrons because they are quite hard to kill and then every turn you have you can choose whether or not to revive units that have died earlier. That ability can REALLY screw over an opponent when (*if you get a REALLY lucky roll*) during the middle of his rush (*say your playing against an Imperial Guard army*) a whole squad of flesh rippers respawns right inside one of your squads. It A): ruins his plans and B): totally rapes the squad!!! Other than that though i have to go with space marines they are a very well rounded squd type made for both close medium and long range combat. They have a good assortment of veichles and troop choices. Although if i had to pick between Tau and Marines i would have to go with the Tau by alandslide because they support the kinds of squads that i like to use.


On another note:

What is the best strategy you ever used to take out an opponent? Did you flank use supporting fire from another squad that kind of stufff?

usualy I rush them and fuck thier shit up, I use my cover to get close to them with my sword brethren and my emperors champion, I also have my chaplain in terminator armor that I deploy with a honor guard of 8 terminators behind thier army and they will totaly desecrate your vehicles with thier las cannons. Then my chaplain has a becon that when I deploy my terminators they don't scatter like usual, so in about a turn you have my main army on your ass and you have a chaplain with 2 groups of 8 terminators with las cannons and rail guns behind you. Usualy they die pretty fucking fast, I've never lost against a shootem up army except for once when I deployed my chaplain and he scattered into a patch of trees and they all died!!! fucking sucked so bad. But if I can get my terminators behind you, they fuck up your light units that people hide behind thier big units.

And that is teh pwn of me.

Thats one of the most sound strategies i have ever seen. I have a buddy that plays Nids and he totally rapes with them. He is a warhammer fanatic and well yeah wat i said. He rapes with nids and any army you put him with he will rape with it. he has so much knowledge of the game and the rules and the special abilities of the Nids that you think he created the class. Everytime he faces my other buddy,(he plays Chaos Marines) He rapes heim in the first few turns. Getting his squads in there fast and quickly. I haven't seen them play a match in person but from what i heard them bickering about the match (espescialy the uy who plays chaos) the guy who played Nids always came out on top.:D

God, I would love to play him, warhammer is my life lol. All I ever do is go around entering in tournies and the such. Seems like he is pretty good, I like playing people that know thier army well like me.

This dude i don't think he knows his army i think he IS his army. I haven't seen him play but the way he describes the ways he would kill me it is creepy. Plus he live in Canada. He enters Tournies too. Hey you gonna play Warhammer online when it comes out????

I was realy thinking about it, but I don't want to anymore. It hasn't been getting any good reviews and it seems kinda half-assed if you ask me.

So the next game im gonna play is going to be Age of Conan. comes out in march 08

Yeah when i was watching X-play and they did a featured preview of it it looked half assed to me too. i was REALLY looking forward to playin it but it just looked grimy. Hell i didn't even know which genre it covered was it 40k or fantasy cause i saw elements of both in it.

The next game i am looking forward to is Halo Wars for the 360 and WoW: Frozen Throne. I might be behind in my leveling thanks to my FUCKING MOM taking away my Internet for a undetermined period of time. (fucking bitch can die slowly!!!!). But yeah other than that, thats pretty much what i am looking for in the future. I am also creating a game of my own. I have quite a good idea of what it involves and i have already started Making cutscene skripts and Character Bios and classes, weapons the works. Its a WIP but its shaping up very well.

I think it was gonna cover the fantasy version and then later on it would open up an expansion that had the 40k version to go into.

That's cool, I was gonna try to make a video game, but I have like no spare time anymore, with school and shit.. but after I graduate ima hella apply to Blizzard for a job, that or Square Enix, hopefuly they would be willing to make an RPG on Final Fantasy, that would be pretty cool. Or even a sweet RTS.

We share the dame dream and probably the same hindrances. I wanna get into the game industry and where i am located its very hard to find a game branck. They are all downtown and i like live an hour away and with traffic, the commute would prolly cause me to kill someone due to road rage (jokes)! I got Pseudo Interactive and i believe a Nintendo firm not close by but reachable. I have this amazing idea i have character dialog and other things that i am prolly repeating from the above reply. I am either hoping to make it into a MMOG, RPG, or if i can manage a few variations to the game and classes I could prolly make it a RTS but thats the long shot.
