I posted this in my other thread but I figured it would get more views this way. Does anyone know the internet speed requirements to run WoW?

I don't think the picture is working so I get 827down, 455 up, and latency is 843 ms...

I live at my dads now where he has satellite internet which doesn't support xbox live, but I don't know about WoW.

Also, I wanted to know that if I buy the burning crusades do I get the whole game, or do I have to buy World of Warcraft AND the burning crusades to play now?

At moms we moved to the gay fucking country so all we have is dial up but we have a beastly computer so with 26mbps I can play WoW but it lags a bit I like try to kill somthing and I wait like 2-7 seconds till it does it. So your computer matters alot.

Your second question, you have to buy both World of Warcraft and Burning Crusade and you have to have a validated account not a trial.

Ok thanks that helps alot and also lets me know for sure that I can play, yeah my computer is good.

Damn that sucks I have to buy both, I think WoW is like 10 bucks and The Burning Crusades is like 40...should I wait until I reach my highest points to buy the burning crusade?

No, the first thing I did was buy Burning Crusade after my trial ended and I wanted to keep playing. And I wanted to make a Blood Elf hunter. So I would recommend you buy Burning Crusade along with the Original World of Warcraft which is 19.99 at Wal Mart and they usually have a copy along with Burning Crusade and a World of Warcraft Time Card, which BTW I need to get one since my account expires today.

You dont have to get BC right away but there is some good content and blood elves are really cool but most of the BC content is 58+ so you may want to wait until BC is on sale at like Best Buy (sometimes you can get it 10 dollars off) or somthin unless you want to make a Blood Elf or Dranei and you will also need a time card after the first month unless you are playin with a credit card

I'm waiting to get BC until both of my 2 mains (on different servers) are at level 60. But I do things differently than most people :D.

I have satellite internet and dial up. i use sat to download patches and play Arathi Basin, Eye of the Storm, and Alterac Valley pvp battlegrounds. dial up forevery thing else. dial up doesnt lag 2 badly for WSG. as for PvE dial up runs WoW nicely if you can put up with some lag. i DONT recommend healing instances with dial up, your group will wipe every time. other than that id eal with it since im out in the country comcrap wants 10grand to give us cable so they can go scrrew themselves. any other questiosn fill free to ask

You don't actually NEED to buy the origional game. If you create a 10 day free trial via Worldofwarcraft.com ... you download THE REAL GAME... for FREE... if you don't want to wait on the DL (it's a pretty damn big file, over 3gb)... just run out to your local best buy, and pick up a 14 day free trial disk (like $3-4 at most)... the disc contains the entire game. BC isn't a priority unless for whatever reason you REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY want to make a Blood Elf... which meh... whatever. I'd say just grab the free trial (either buy it from the store or DL it)... play 'til you know that spending $40 for TBC is going to be worth the money it costs. It'd suck ass to fork out $40 right away for a game that you end up not-so-intrested in.

there are plenty of people that play on dial up, but dont plan on going into any of the big cities like ogrimar. lag fest. im on 3mb/s dsl and i still lag just a little in ogrimar and undercity.
